This is basically what the title says. I, Tailbite, will be sharing my unpopular opinions. These are from multiple fandoms. Warning: this contains a lot of ranting. Oh, and spoilers. Lots of spoilers for WoF, Warriors, and HP.

Please don’t read this if you tend to get offended at opinions that are different from yours. Please. I’m telling you now.

Wings of Fire Unpopular Opinions[]

A character that most people like but you don’t.

I’m not a big fan of Moonwatcher. No, I don’t think she’s a Mary Sue, because she has plenty of flaws, at least in Moon Rising. The reason I don’t like her is because her entire personality completely disappeared after her book. Many people argue that it’s character development, but character development happens slowly throughout a book or series. Moon’s flaws seemed to vanish in one book, which is unrealistic. Even after character development, a character should still have some flaws. Otherwise, nobody would be able to relate to them.

I’m not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but I love Kinkajou. After DoD, I feel like a lot of people don’t really like her, because they are mad about the way Darkstalker was defeated. Which, honestly, I‘m not happy with the climax of DoD either. However, I still can’t help but admire Kinkajou. She is bright, cheerful, and funny. At the same time, she is brave, fierce, and intelligent. She knew that Darkstalker’s scales were invincible, and so she melted his eyeball. That’s really smart. She also knew that nobody’s power would work against Darkstalker except his own. Overall, I think she‘s really underrated, and she deserves more fans.

I don’t like Winterwatcher. I actually used to prefer this ship over Moonbli, but, looking back on the series, I realized how much of a jerk Winter was to Moon. I don‘t blame Moon for rejecting him. It was as though he liked her at some parts of the book, but two seconds later, he would be screaming at her. I’m pretty sure he actually hurt her in DoD, but my memory is foggy, so I’m not a hundred percent sure on that one. I like the idea of Winterwatcher, but I just didn’t like the way it was written in the books. I think it would end up being like Squirrel x Bramble from Warriors, and I honestly hate that ship.

Okay, this is a really unpopular one.

I like Suntail (Swordtail x Sundew). I know Sundew is in a relationship with Willow, but that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s a lesbian. She could be bi. Many people seemed convinced that iF yOu DoN‘t ShIp SuNlOw, YoU aRe HoMoPhObIc. However, I personally feel like Sunlow kind of took up waaaay to much of the book. Gosh, The Poison Jungle should have been called The Sunlow Ship. Okay, lets get to the point. Sundew and Swordtail have very similar personalities. They squabble a lot, but they also seem to be (secretly) fond of each other. It feels more developed than Sunlow, which is literally “Oh what’s your name?” “Sundew.” “Hehe okay, do you want to be my secret wife, Sundew?” “I would love to be your secret wife, random dragon that I don’t even know.” If Snudoo is a lesbian, though, I also think she and Swordtail would have a great brother-sister relationship.

I love almost all of the Wings of Fire books. But you know what book I didn’t like so much? Dragonslayer. Dragonslayer was EXTREMELY boring in my opinion. This was mostly because of the characters, though. I liked Wren and Ivy, but Leaf was meh. Also, I didn‘t even feel afraid for the characters when they were in a dangerous situation, because I knew that Tui wouldn’t kill off the main characters. Heath was a horrible antagonist in my opinion, to the point where he didn’t even feel that threatening. To me, he seemed more like an obnoxious, self-centered jerk rather than evil. Also, how does Rose still not know how to speak Dragon? She’s lived with dragons for a very long time, much longer than Wren lives with Sky. Is she just really stupid? Come to think of it, how does Sky even know how to speak dragon?

I... honestly have nothing for this one :P

Warriors Unpopular Opinions[]

A character that most people like but you don’t.

I don’t really like Leafpool. Okay. So. She ran off with Crowfeather for one day. She broke up with him that night. Then, later, she realized that she was expecting kits. Because of this, she decides to guilt trip SQUIRRELFLIGHT, her SISTER, into taking her kits. StarClan also guilt trips Squirrelflight into taking Leafpool’s kits. This triggers me so much. Does Leafpool really think it’s okay to destroy her sister’s life so that she doesn’t have to go through the consequences of her actions? Squirrelflight lost her mate, the love from her adopted kits, and the respect from her fellow warriors. What did Leafpool lose? Her job. That’s it. And then, later, StarClan nearly rejects Squirrelflight. Did they just forget that they were the ones that guilt tripped her into lying in the first place?

I love Millie. People seem to hate her for how she treated Blossomfall, but people need to keep in mind that Blossomfall is an adult that doesn’t need her mother’s attention. It would be different if Blossomfall was a kit or a young apprentice, but Blossomfall is a warrior. Millie is a much more realistic character than some other queens. Can you really blame her for being concerned for her disabled daughter? And, okay, so she yelled at Blossomfall that one time. Don’t tell me your mom has never yelled at you before. Chances are, Millie and Blossomfall have talked things over and are good now, because we did briefly see Millie playing with Blossomfall’s kits in VoS.

A think Jayfeather x Half Moon is pretty stupid. I actually dislike most Warriors ships (Squirrel x Bamble, Bristle x Root, etc.) But I feel like those Warriors ships have something to do with the plot. I don’t exactly hate Jay x Half, but I feel like it’s pointless. It only exists to exist. It does nothing to the plot. If the Jay x Half romance was taken out of Sign of the Moon, the book would still be the same. That’s why I think JayHalf is stupid.

I’ve seen a weird amount of hate for Alder x Velvet. And I just can’t see why. It’s understandable for Alderheart to want someone to take care of him for once. Being a medicine cat, he’s always expected to be able to take care of himself. I feel like Alderheart would have been happy to just have someone to be there for him. He seemed to be almost lonely throughout VoS. However, I am glad that Alder x Velvet didn‘t end up being a forbidden romance, because that would‘ve been extremely irritating. Thanks to Velvet, Alderheart learned that he does have a place in ThunderClan, and it lead to a nice moment between him and Jayfeather.
