Preface[]
Abigail drove around the city. Her friend, Thunder Pierce, said, "Umm, Abby, do you hear that?"
"Hear what?"
"It sounds like... weaponry..."
"Naw this place is peaceful."
Thunder gave her a shocked look. "Are you, like, sheltered??"
"No."
"You're awfully oblivious."
"I was young when my parents disappeared. I dunno where they are."
"Umm...."
"What?"
"Are they, by any chance.... DEAD?"
"Who would kill a innocent couple?"
"Lots of- Ya know, I'm gonna stop."
"Why?"
He sighed.
A midnight-blue car with yellow eyes drove past. He had heard the teenager's conversation.
"You need help?"
"Who- Yes."
Chapter 1[]
"I'm Midnight. It seems like you need help with your oblivious friend here."
"She needs to see the world."
"...Agreed."
"You look older." He giggled.
Midnight glared at him. "Shut it."
"OK, fine."
Midnight looked at his young friend, who was casually going down the street where the gunshots came from. Midnight sped up to her and stopped her. "No."
She shrugged him off and kept driving. "Nothing's wrong!"
He cursed under his breath. "No, there's literal GUNSHOTS coming from there!"
"No, they're isn't."
"Are you like, DEAF?"
"No."
"You seem like it." He forced her backwards as the the noices came closer. She scowled and drove to the side. Midnight's yellow eyes showed annoyance.
"I don't even know what they sound like."
"Gunshots sound like THIS." He decided to pull a satire switch. "Clearly you're sheltered or wasn't raised by your parents."
"My parents disappeared," She said flatly.
Again, he pulled a heavy satire switch. "Why do you think I added, 'Wasn't raised by your parents'?"
Thunder had a ;-; expression on his front.
"Quit with the satire," Abby said, "I don't need protection."
Midnight ignored her. "Oh yeah? Explain why you were headed STRAIGHT INTO GUNFIRE!"
"I wasn't, I'm going home."
"WHICH IS WHERE THE DA(NG) GUNFIRE IS!!"
"Don't swear."
"Aren't I 31 years older than you are?"
"Midnight," Thunder said, "Enough with the satire."
"Why?"
"Don't be stupid."
"Fiiine."
Chapter Two[]
A car similiar to the Lemons in Cars 2 approached the three. Midnight got bad vibes from her and told the kids to get behind him.
"What do you want?" He growled.
"Nothing..."
"Don't lie," Midnight said with annoyance.
"Fine. I want something."
"What!?"
"Give me any weapons you have on you."
"What? So you can kill us?" He snarled.
"No..." Not yet, at least.
He looked at a window which had been shot out. The store owner was unconscious and Midnight wished he could help him and his female assistant
Thunder looked worriedly at his friend.
"Who ARE you??" Spoke up Thunder.
"I don't listen to young idiots."
Midnight glared at her. "What. Is. Your. Name?" he growled. He threatened to knock her out and call the police. It worked.
"I'm... Ash."
"Ash, huh? Do you have a weapon?"
"Why do you think I'm asking for one?"
"So no."
"None of your buiness, mister."
"OK, ms. Defensive," Midnight sassed.
"Shut it or I'll turn you and the kids in to the One."
"The one?"
"Yeah. No more is being said."
"Tell me or I'll knock you out."
"No. Arrows, knock them out!" Ash commanded. And so the three were surrounded and knocked out.
Chapter Three[]
About three hours after Midnight, Thunder, and Abby were kidnapped, they all woke up- In a warehouse. Without anyone in there. Or so they thought. A black car with brown eyes approached them, a cruel smile on his front.
"So we have a oldie and two kids... Not too bad, Ash."
Midnight glared at him.
"Don't look at me like that, old yellow eyes."
"Shut up."
Then, he heard Abby softly murmur, "I'm scared..."
He nodded slightly. "So are me and your friend," He whispered back. Meanwhile, Thunder was trying to break the rope around his tires. It didn't work.
Midnight tried to as well, but they were tied too tight. He looked at Abby. She was sad looking- And crying. "I wanna go home..." (Wait- Do cars cry in this universe??)
Midnight certainly wasn't heartless, so he felt bad for the teenager. However, Ash and the black car were very heartless. They hit Abby, to Midnight's anger. "Leave her alone! She did nothing to you!"
"Shut up. Do you think I care?"
Ash yelled, "Axle! Do you have a gun or something? These idiots clearly don't have weapons."
"I have a dagger-"
"Give it."
Axle carelessly threw the dagger toward her, and it clattered to the ground. Midnight gulped, knowing what could be done with the weapon. Abby looked at him fearfully, her light blue eyes terrified.
Chapter Four[]
Midnight looked fearfully at the two teens. Both were terrified and Thunder seemed sad. Abby was scared they would be killed. And honestly, so was Midnight. They couldn't fight back while tied up. Midnight thought of his wife and daughter and teared up. His daughter was still so young... Only a tween. As for Abby, she needed someone several years older, or bad things would happen to her at such a young age. Thunder whispered, "I miss my family and I don't even know if I'll see them again..."
Midnight nodded and whispered, "I have a wife and kid..."
Thunder looked away. He must've been thinking about how they would repond if Midnight died and they heard about it. Abby held back tears. She had no family left, except for her uncle from her father's side, but he was cruel to everyone- Including her. The other two though, had loving families who cared about them. And they were still alive. She looked around. She saw pain in their eyes. She wanted to wipe the pain out of their eyes and make them happy, but knew she couldn't due to the threat of death. The young car whispered a joke to try to get them to smile or laugh. Midnight looked at her with a smile that seemed to say "Thanks for trying". Thunder just looked down, tears in his now-dull yellow eyes.
"I'm only 17 and this happens..."
Midnight made a attempt to hug Thunder, but couldn't with his tires tied.
Chapter 5[]
A civilian had saw Ash leave the warehouse- With a dagger. When Ash passed, she snuck to the warehouse. She noticed the three captives and quietly called the police. Unfortunately, she was caught by Axle and put into a dark, windowless room. The cops arrived. The 28-year-old civilian was nowhere to be seen. A male and female partner group. The male yelled, "Free your captives and show us where you put the civilian!"
The female proved more hostile. She showed her gun. "I WILL tase and shoot you."
"If I free the captives, I WILL kill them. As for her..." Axle cruelly smiled, "She's not coming back."
"You monster!" Yelled the female in anger, "You killed that innocent car!?"
"No... She just dropped into a deep hole."
The cop shot him. The male cop high-wheeled her. "Now we have to rescue the other three."
"Maybe we should check the hole to see if there's a way out. I don't want that car to die if it's not too late."
They went in the room, careful not to fall to their potential deaths. What they saw both shocked and horrified them. The female civilian was lying unconsious as several other cars, most of them dead, were also at the bottom of the pit. Then, unknown to the police partners, Ash returned with a young wounded captive. She went into the room, putting the really young car by Midnight, tying her up. She noticed the cops didn't notice her. And pushed him into the hole. The female cop tased and threw Ash in the hole as well, anger in her dark brown eyes. And then, she sadly looked down in the hole and held back tears.
Chapter 6[]
Midnight looked worriedly at the young teenage captive. "Officer! Can you free us?"
"Coming." She freed them, checking the 13-year-old for injuries. She saw a mild injury and put a tempory bandage on it. She let Midnight take care of the rest. Midnight asked if the young car's family was alive.
She shook her front sadly. "Mom and Dad were taken by them when I was 12... I'm being taken care of by my uncaring aunt and uncle." Her innocently-blue eyes teared up.
"Aww, that's so sad!" Midnight looked at her sympathetically. He knew what it was like to lose your mother at a young age. Except he never knew her. She was old enough to grieve when she lost BOTH her parents.
"My uncle doesn't care about me... My aunt even less.."
"You want me to adopt you?"
"Yeah, sure. They won't notice." Ira said sadly.
Chapter 7[]
Midnight took the three kids to his own home and left the two young females there, asking for Thunder's address and taking him home. Unfortuntely, when Midnight was headed back, he was once again kidnapped. By Axle's sister, Sara, who though he'd killed Axle. She started yelling questions that Midnight didn't have a answer to.
"What the hecc are you talking about??"
"You know what!"
"Do I?"
...............................................
The two kids were worried when Midnight was gone for a hour. "We should look for him."
Abby shook her front. "I think he'll be fine."
"He could've gotten killed!"
"True... We have to find him before he dies."
The two young cars set off. The 13-year-old pulled out a pocketknife and started to look for him.
.................................
Midnight struggled against his bonds. Whoever this car was, she certainly wasn't friendly. He hoped the kids were safe alone in his home. Then, he heard one of them call "MIDNIGHT!?" and he was instantly filled with intense fear. "No!" He yelled.
The 13-year-old heard and drove in with Abby. The sister of Axle looked at them. "Oh, hello, little friends..." She said coldly.
"Leave them alone, sicko! They have no quarrel with you!"
"Are they yours?"
"Umm- No. I adopted them."
"Fine. I'll leave the kids alone. But you... You're dying."
"No!" Yelled Ira. She used her pocketknife. We're not going into details, but it wasn't pretty. She smiled and said, "Done."
Midnight's expression said everything. It was a mix of horror, regret, and impression. The female cop's expression was one like this: ;-;
Ira cut him out of his bonds and casually drove away past Sara's not-so-alive body. The female cop stopped her. "Y-You just casually murdered that car..."
"Yeah, I know."
"You COULD go to prison for that but she was evil, soo..."
Chapter 8[]
The three drove back to their home. Midnight was very tired of getting kidnapped. When he got home, he kissed his wife and daughter and introduced them to the kids.
Gabby asked, "Where did you find them?"
"Umm- The older one with her friend and the younger car... That's a long story."
"She was kidnapped and put into the warehouse with us," said Abby.
"WAIT- WHAT!?"
Midnight glared at the 16-year-old.
"Well, now that you know..." Midnight sighed, "We were kidnapped..."
Her expression of horror said everything. She went somewhere else in her home and cried.
Star looked up at her father. "Dad, are you OK?"
He hugged young Star. "Yes, honeypie."
Ira went somewhere else, bored. Midnight watched her leave. Abby played with Star with some miniture vehicles, knowing she didn't have any other siblings. Abby was entertained as well as the tween. However, Ira was bored out of her mind. She watched TV, but was still bored. Midnight played a board game with her and she actually enjoyed that. He called his wife to play as well. She looked tired but complied. Abby and Star joined the game as well just because.
Chapter 9[]
After the game, Ira and Star decided to sleep. Midnight and Gabby chilled. Abby decided to get some Vitamin D. Being a responsible grown-up, Gabby watched her. As for Thunder, he helped his father with the farming business.
Ira woke up from a terrifying nightmare and accidently woke up young Star. She looked at Star and muttered an apoligy, who just ignored it and went back to sleep.
She drove toward Midnight. "Can we do something?"
Ignoring that, he said, "I heard you scream. What's wrong?"
"Just a stupid nightmare. That's all."
"Tell me it."
"OK..." She knew Midnight was a very loving father and husband.
"So basically, me, my parents, and my brother-"
"You had a brother?" He said sympathetically.
"Yeah..." She sighed, "Anyways, we were attacked. Then you, Star, your wife, and Abby were killed. I was the only survivor." She sighed.
Midnight looked away. "That's a sucky dream."
"You're not wrong."
"Soo... Do you want to do a game?"
"A video game."
"OK!"
Chapter 10[]
They decided to play an action game. For some reason, it was in cursive, so they couldn't read it. Ira sighed as her character was killed by the boss. Midnight muttered a swear word under his breath so Star didn't hear as his character died too. They made their characters drive off to make their characters stronger. Then, Midnight made his character kill Ira's, to her verbal annoyance. She drove back, glaring at Midnight in real life. Midnight smiled with fake innocence and watched as Ira killed his character. Abby drove in. "Guys, what are you doing??"
"Playing a game. What else?" replied Midnight.
"What kind of game?"
"A fighting game," Ira replied absently, as she made her character kill a random car on the virtual road.
Abby's expression hinted she didn't like the concept of the game.
Midnight's mainly-blue character drove back to Ira's. An hour later, they beat the boss and got off the game.
Chapter 11[]
Midnight took his family to a nearby park, looking out for danger. Star stuck close to her father because she was scared of strangers. Ira was next to Star with her pocketknife drawn so she could help protect the family if needed and especially the youngest of the group. As for Abby, she was next to Gabby. Gabby was talking quietly to her husband. Another couple was there with their young son, who looked to be around four years old. Star looked at Midnight. "Dad, I wanna play with someone," She said quietly.
"Sure, sweetie, if there's someone around your age here. Hopefully not a boy." He playfully winked. Gabby laughed a bit and and the teenagers just gave him a blank look. Star glared at him. A young female car Ira's age looked bored. Her mother was nearby, also looking extremely bored. Midnight looked at his quiet but social daughter. "If she wants to, you can play with her. Maybe Ira will join."
Ira said, "No, I think I'll look out for danger."
"Understandable."
Star sped over to the young teen. "Wanna play?"
"Sure. I'm bored. What to play?"
"Tag?"
"Sure!"
Chapter 12[]
Midnight was very tired by evening. He wanted to go home but Star and her new friend didn't. Ira seemed to be at unease and Midnight was kinda worried as well. Gabby was asleep and Abby... She was just chilling with a young male car her age, which also made Midnight kinda worried. It made sense, yes, but did Midnight like it? No. Then, he noticed Thunder. He was easily recognizable with his brilliant white coat and yellow eyes in the dark. With Midnight, the thing that stuck out most was his eyes, which were the same color as Thunder's. As for Thunder's family, they were a rather large family. He had both parents and a little brother and sister. Biological, it seemed. However, his mother looked way different.
Seems like none of her physical features got to Thunder, Midnight thought.
Thunder scanned the darkened area with only a few lights. Nearly everyone had their headlights on, especially the playing children, but only Ira noticed that there was a dark green car with light blue eyes coming quietly and slowly down the park path. "Midnight!" she whisper-gasped, "There's a car here without their headlights on!"
"Where?"
She pointed to the middle of the path. The dark green was hard to see but the eyes were easy. Midnight drove toward her and growled, "What are you doing?"
The female knocked him out and took him... Somewhere.
"Gabby!" screamed Ira, "Midnight was kidnapped!"
Chapter 13[]
Gabby woke up. "Midnight!" She screamed into the dark, her voice echoing in the eerily-dark night. Star cried, "Dad!"
Her friend stopped. "Are you OK, Star?"
"No!" She sobbed.
The mother of Brooklyn, also woke up. She felt sorry for young Star and gently told her to go to her mother. Thunder went over to Gabby. Sensing her intentions, he said, "My mother said she will take care of your daughter and foster kids."
Star went over to her mother. "Mom..." She sobbed.
Thunder looked at Star sadly. The younger car did not deserve to have her father kidnapped in front of her. He felt like hugging her, but she was clearly distressed and he decided against that.
Gabby nodded and told Abby to bring her daughter over to the large group. However, Star was wary of the new group and tried to go back to her mom, who was driving away. Ira went to the other side to make sure Star didn't escape, of course, without threatening her, because she saw that as heartless and cruel after the traumatic incident. Eventually, young Star stopped trying. "Mom..." She murmured. Thunder attempted to gain Star's trust when they got home, but Star didn't trust anyone but her foster sisters. She stayed pretty distant from the Pierce family, especially Thunder's siblings, who were playing quite aggressively.
As for Gabby, she was looking for her husband. About two days later, she was exausted and had asked a cop for help. Star was crying alot without the presence of her parents.
Chapter 14[]
Gabby drove around next to a cop in an attempt to find her husband. 10 hours later, she was near giving up. Then, they came across a warehouse. She heard Midnight's voice and it sounded weary and sad.
"Midnight!" She yelled.
A light green car with dark brown eyes yelled, "Shut up!" to Midnight. He had a British-Italian accent.
Poor Midnight sighed. Then, he noticed Gabby. "Gabby!" He cried, "Help!"
Gabby rushed in. The British-Italian car glared at her and grabbed Midnight aggressively, causing him to cry out in pain. Gabby's eyes saddened. "Please, let him go! He has a kid!"
"I don't care! I've killed cars with children before! Darkmint, come here and kill this dark blue car and the female car!"
An 18-ish car came out. He looked kinda bored. Gabby yelled, "No! Midnight does not deserve this!"
The cop just stood idle, not doing anything about it. He obviously didn't care now.
The young car didn't speak. He pulled out a 'barrowed' dagger and threw it at Midnight, but Gabby sped up and ended up getting in the way. Darkmint had a very mild reaction while his boss of sorts cursed. His eyelids raised slightly and so did his empty gaze. Midnight gasped. "Gabby!"
She murmured, "Thunder's house"- And then died.
Finally, the cop did something. He shot the boss and arrested Darkmint for murder and attempted murder- And theft. Darkmint, however, didn't respond, only looked extremely annoyed.
(Umm sorry to those who voted for light. Dark won with 10/11 votes. I did want to do light, but it is what it is)
- Darkmint is a user I like to call Usie's OC
Chapter 15[]
Mention of mental deterioration
The female cop from earlier chapters took a traumatized and crying Midnight to Thunder's house to pick up the girls. Star looked at her sad father. "Dad? Where's Mom?"
"We'll talk later, child..." He murmured. Ira looked down, not saying out loud what she thought happened. A couple of angry and sad tears trailed down. Abby also knew what befell Gabby. She held back tears for Star, but internally was bawling.
They got home 20 minutes later. Midnight went straight to the master 'bedroom'- Without Gabby by his side. He sighed sadly, looking at the side where she would've been. Abby drove off to Thunder's home. Midnight realized where Abby went and was filled with panic. If he lost anyone else, that would kill his mental health. Then. he heard young Star whimpering and crying. He sped toward his daughter. "What's wrong, baby?"
"Mom was murdered!"
Filled with dread, he broke down in front of Star. Star looked at him with innocent, but tear-filled eyes. He looked at her. "It's too much! I can't take this!"
"What's too much?"
He drove away to his room, murmuring, "Nevermind." Star watched him leave and looked down, letting the tears fall. Ira looked sad and weary. "Where's Abby?"
Star shrugged. She didn't say a word. Ira noticed her sadness. Obviously part of it was from her mother's death, but she felt there was something else. She went next to Star and asked gently, "What's wrong, Star?"
Star looked up at her with weary eyes. "I'm worried about Dad!" She wailed. Ira looked away. "So am I, Star... His mental health seems to be slowly deteriorating with all the stress..."
Star nodded slightly. "And now he has to raise three females by himself..." She began to cry. "Why did Mom have to die that way!?"
.....................................
Abby headed to the store Ramar owned. "Hello! How are you?"
"Weren't you from the park?"
"Yep!"
"Oh. Couldn't tell because it was dark outside."
"Yeah..."
"I recognized your voice. I have to say, you're a pretty color."
"Thanks!"
"Maybe you should return home. Your father will probably be worried." He lowered his voice. "I heard his wife was murdered..."
- Ramar is MeAMagician's OC. He was the same age so yeah.
Authors' Notes[]
Hello! Hope you enjoyed! Yes, I know it was very dark, but that's my stories for ya. Honestly, Midnight's my favorite character of all time, but the way I treated him in this... Man, I did not show that. Being kidnapped multiple times, losing his wife... The list goes on. I didn't specify what was happening in Chapter 14, but he was being forced to work. Seeming how Midnight was acting in that chapter, it probably wasn't humane in any way. A sequel is being planned due to the ending and there will be more original OCs from myself and others, so look out for that! Anyways, the Authors' Notes is done. BYYYE!!!
Love, Sisi <3
Trivia[]
- Most of the main characters are ripped off of/based characters, namely Aquawave (based on, named Abby) from Wolfy from ElementClans, Midnight from the Spiritstar species thing, and Thunder from Mixed-Up Life, a fanfic-collaboration from me and a user named Viv's net.
