Prolouge[]

Allseer rushed into the room. Queen Listener was already pacing around the throne room, awaiting Allseer's so-called "urgent" message. Listener stiffened, and Allseer wondered why. Was it because she didn't like him? Was it because Allseer disturbed her beauty sleep? With a queen like Listener, Allseer never knew.

"My queen," Allseer panted. Allseer had flown, as fast as he could, and some more, to the NightWing royal palace. "My queen-"

"Get on with it! Is your message THAT important that you had to wake me up, right before the SandWings came!? Don't you understand that if Queen Marram doesn't accept the peace treaty, this could mean war! Now get on with your 'urgent message' before I rip your throat out."

Allseer froze out of fear. Listener glared at him so hard that he came back to his senses and said, "My queen-"

"Third time," Listener grumbled.

"A thrice moonborn dragonet has hatched."

"WHAT?! WHO?!" Listener roared. Listener walked up to the window and threw open the curtains. The three moons shone full and clear outside, like three huge opals in the sky.

"My queen, I believe it was Victory's! She was the one who carried it outside and helped it hatch!" Allseer was taking a midnight stroll, wanting to confess his love for his crush, Victory, under the moonlight of the three moons. He planned to climb up to her bedroom window wake her up to his love. But little did he know that Victory's little sister was supposed to hatch that day. When he saw the egg, his heart broke in half. He thought that the egg was Victory and Romanus's, not Victory's little sister.

"Victory?" Listener said. "No, no, she's too young to have children. If I remember correctly, before her parents died, they left an egg for her."

Allseer breathed a sigh of relief. So there still is some hope for our relationship.

"What are you sighing about?" Listener asked, irritated.

"N-nothing, my queen," answered Allseer. "I'm just... tired."

"Not that I care about you, but go away and fall asleep. I'm tired, and I want to sleep too. In the morning, I want to have a little... chat with Victory."

Allseer glared at Listener. Listener will NOT kill Victory, not on my watch. If she tries to... I might even kill Listener myself. It's about time Intelligence takes the throne.

Chapter 1[]

"Knowing?" somebody softly asked near Knowing's bedroom door. "Knowing, the council meeting is starting."

Knowing bolted upright. How could have he forgotten about the council meeting? It was every month, but Knowing was so busy these days some things just ran out of his head.

"Oh good, you're awake," the dragon at the doorway said. "When you didn't show up Til and Allseer asked me to come get you." Knowing smiled hastily and walked over to the doorway.

"Good morning, Leaf," he said. Leaf the LeafWing SeaWing rolled her eyes. She was Princess Intelligence's handmaiden, and she was often sent to do chores for the princess or queen. "It's so late in the morning you could say that it is noon already," she said sarcastically.

"Hey, you can't blame me," Knowing said, pretending to be hurt. "I stayed up until midnight making up ideas for the princess's birthday gift." Intelligence, Allseer, and Knowing had been friends since they were tiny dragonets, and Knowing, no matter how stressed he was, was he about to not give a birthday present to Til- her birthday was two weeks away. (My birthday is too! <3)

Leaf rolled her eyes yet again and led Knowing to the palace meeting room where council meeting and important announcements were held. The room was full of dragons, though they were all silent listening to Queen Listener's advisor, as well as Intelligence's tutor, Truthkeeper (aka the Rhinoceros), talk to the palace staff about changes in the palace system. Leaf left to join the princess on the other side of the room.

"Servants will be required to start doing their work at approximately 7 am. If you are tardy, you will have to work extra hours later...." Truthkeeper said.

Knowing glanced around the room. He spotted Allseer, his best friend, and Til, his other best friend, at the other end of the room. He gave a small wave, but neither of them saw it. Knowing continued looking around the room. He spotted Stormseeker, the queen's messenger, not too far away from him. He looked further and spotted Titanaboa, the SandWing RainWing hybrid that didn't live too far away from the palace, next to Allseer.

"... our beloved cook, Lovekeeper, has retired. We shall miss him, for he was one of the best cooks our palace has ever had. Due to his retirement, you can become the NightWing palace cook. The requirements are: -You must be above the low class. -You must have a cooking degree. and -You must be above 8 years old." droned on Rhinoceros.

Huh, thought Knowing. I meet all of the requirements, I can become the new NightWing cook. But I am perfectly happy as my role as Queen Listener's err... spy.

"The queen's coronation anniversary is coming up soon. The coronation anniversary ball will be held in 3 days' time in the Sagittarius Ballroom at midnight. It is preferable that you show up with a gift...."

Oh shoot, Knowing thought. Queen Listener's coronation anniversary ran our of my head too! I'll need to make up a gift later... But maybe I can do it with Allseer and Til? When the meeting is over I'll ask if they can go to the chocolate cafe later today.

Knowing stayed for the rest of the meeting, nearly falling asleep in the middle of it.

When Truthkeeper finally stopped droning on, Knowing ran up to his friends and Titanaboa and said, "Guys, want to meet me in the chocolate cafe later today to brainstorm for a coronation gift for the queen?"

Allseer smiled sympathetically. "Victory is coming back from the Rain Kingdom, and as the queen's assistant I have to come too."

"Well," intelligence said, "I have tutoring with the Rhino later... but I'll be there, don't worry." That last part scared Knowing a bit. Intelligence always came up with ways to get away from the Rhinoceros, the worse, the funnier.

"I'll help too, don't worry," Leaf said, their eyes glinting with micheviousness.

Knowing turned to Titanaboa. "Do you want to come too?" he asked.

Titanaboa shook his head. "I'm not comfortable with going into crowded places," he said. Titanaboa had moved to the Night Kingdom because the NightWings had beautiful scenery, and since Titanaboa was a painter, that was great. He still wasn't very used to the Night Kingdom, and was pretty shy, except when he was around his friends.

"Yoo-hoo!" Stormseeker called from above. She loved flying, and almost never walked. "What are you guys ta-" she was cut off by a small NightWing that said, "Letter to the queen. Deliver immediately." Stormseeker frowned, then waved at Knowing, Intelligence, Allseer, Titanaboa, and Leaf. Stormseeker flew off to the queen's room.

Knowing clapped his talons together. "Alright, that's settled then. Leaf, Til, meet me at the Chocolate Cafe at around 2."

Knowing waved to the others and then flew off. I wonder what type of chocolate I'm going to get.

Chapter 2: An Annoying Letter (Listener)[]

Queen Listener was sitting on her throne, not moving a muscle. Her head was up, her tail curled around her claws, with a faint smile on her face. The smile was fake, though. Listener’s coronation anniversary was tomorrow, and she hated the event. She basically sat on her throne for hours while dragons chatted at the party and showered her with gifts. It was fun to unwrap the presents but she wasn’t allowed to do that until AFTER the ceremony.

Gamers, I'm still working on Chapter 2. Expect Chapter 2 soon! ~Qinter <3
