I don't have many tips but I'd love to read the story once you write it! :)
If you're going for realism, you might want to look up wolf behaviours on the internet if you haven't already, because I think some of the ways they behave differs from common knowledge. Wolves are my favourite animals but I really don't know enough about them lol
